Capt. John McLaughlin, the platoon commander of the United States Marine Silent Drill Platoon, talks with midshipmen after a performance at the United States Naval Academy during Commsioning Week May 24. McLaughlin, a 2005 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, was a plebe at the academy when we saw the Silent Drill Platoon perform for the first time.
