Hershel “Woody” Williams, the last living Medal of Honor recipient from the Battle of Iwo Jima and retired Marine Chief Warrant Officer 4, greet Barracks’ Marines in Center House at Marine Barracks Washington D.C., Feb. 28, 2018. Marines of MBW met with Williams at Center House for a meet and greet and were afforded the opportunity to listen to stories shared from their fellow Marine. Williams received the Medal of Honor for his “valiant devotion to duty” and service above self as he “enabled his company to reach its objective” on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II.
