U.S. Marines with the Silent Drill Platoon perform during an evening parade at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., July 17, 2015. U.S. Marine Corps Gen. John M. Paxton, assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, was the hosting official for the July 17 evening parade, and the Guest of Honor was Sen. John J. Reed. The Evening Parade summer tradition began in 1934 and features the Silent Drill Platoon, the U.S. Marine Band, the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and two marching companies.
