U.S. Marines with The Silent Drill Platoon perform during an evening parade at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., May 29, 2015. Mr. James B. Cunningham, former United States ambassador to Afghanistan, was the guest of honor for the parade at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., and Gen. Joseph Dunford, the 36th commandant of the Marine Corps, was the hosting official for that same parade. The Evening Parade summer tradition began in 1934 and features the Silent Drill Platoon, the U.S. Marine Band, and the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, and two marching companies.
