Cabaniss, Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., commanding officer, sews seeds on the front lawn on the National Museum of American History as part of the Flanders Field Project in Washington, Nov. 12. The project’s goal is to recreate the poppy fields that blossomed on the war-stricken land of Europe in the aftermath of WWI by spreading seeds over the front lawn of the museum.
