U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Ford Higgins, platoon commander, United States. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, Alpha Company, Marine Barracks Washington, briefs the platoon prior to their performance during the opening ceremony of the 50th Marine Corps Marathon at National Harbor, Maryland, Oct. 25, 2025. The ceremony included a three-mile motivational run, performances by the Silent Drill Platoon and the U.S. Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps, and remarks from Lt. Gen. Jerry Carter, deputy commandant for information.
