The official party of the relief and appointment ceremony for the 38th Color Sergeant of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Francis S. Frazier, and the 39th Color Sergeant of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Franklin D. Taft, stand at attention during the ceremony at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., Feb. 4, 2020. The Color Sergeant of the Marine Corps serves as the senior sergeant of the Corps, entrusted with carrying the National Ensign in ceremonies throughout the National Capital Region and across the nation.
